FIFA, CAF name observers to NFF elections
World football–ruling body, FIFA on Monday named Messrs Luca Piazza and Solomon Mudege as its observers to Thursday’s elections into Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee 2018-2022. Mudege is FIFA’s Senior Manager for Development Programmes (Africa), while Piazza is a senior official in FIFA President’s office. A statement by Mr Ademola Olajire, NFF’s Director of Communications on Monday, also said Confederation of African Football (CAF) designated a member of its Executive Committee, Sita Sangare, as its observer to the big event. Nigeria’s U-17 team, Golden Eaglets, will be among participating teams at 2019 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Tanzania in May. Minister inaugurates National Anti-Doping Committee
Minister of Youths and Sports, Mr Solomon Dalung, on Thursday inaugurated members of National Anti-Doping Committee (NADC) with a charge on them to ensure Nigeria’s compliance with anti-doping policies. The minister said that the inauguration had placed Nigeria in the league of nations, committed to promoting clean competition in sports.
