During a sermon yesterday at the Living Faith Church headquarters in Ogun State, the presiding Bishop, David Oyedepo denied claims that he campaigned for the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, before the February 25, elections.
This comes after an online newspaper, Peoples Gazette, released an audio recording where former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi solicited Oyedepo's support to secure votes from Christians in the Southwest for the 2023 presidential election.
In the recording, Obi urged Oyedepo to use his influence to encourage Christians to vote for him.
However, in response to these claims, Oyedepo stated that he had never spoken on behalf of any politician or political party and had never been instructed on what to say.
He however admitted to giving advice and offering prayers to various political party candidates, but he has never campaigned for any particular individual or party, and he will not do so now or in the future.
