During an attack on the Christian Pentecostal Church in Akenawe-Tswarev community in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State in the early hours of Sunday, armed men killed one worshipper and abducted three people, including the resident pastor. The attack occurred while the congregation was attending a service, according to locals.
Hemen Terkimbi, a community leader and President of Gaambe-Tiev Youths Association, confirmed to journalists that the church's resident pastor was among those abducted, and one person was killed during the attack. In addition, five people, including the acting Kindered Head of Akemkpa, Zaki Tyokase Ingyutu, sustained injuries and were receiving treatment at different hospitals in Ugba and Anyiim rural towns of Logo LGA. The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, as confirmed by the Chairman of Logo LGA, Mrs Salome Tor, who said armed men surrounded the church during a vigil and abducted three people, killed one boy, and injured two people with machetes.
