Demand for telecom shares boosts stocks on NSE to N317bn gain

Nigerian stocks advanced by 1.58 per cent or N317.4 billion on Tuesday in one of the biggest daily gains this year, regaining the ground lost at the Monday session as investors’ exuberance for telco giants Airtel Africa and MTNN principally lifted trade. Air Peace opens Ibadan, Cameroon routes

Air Peace Limited has announced the expansion of its network routes to Douala, Cameroon and Ibadan, the Oyo state capital. In a statement issued by the airline on Tuesday, the airline said that scheduled commercial flights from Lagos and Port Harcourt to Douala would commence August 19. Nigeria CEOs among best paid in Sub-Saharan Africa - PwC

Chief executives of Nigerian-listed companies are among sub-Saharan Africa’s highest earners, according to a new report by PwC. The median value of total-guaranteed packages, which includes base pay and benefits, for the heads of Nigerian companies is $323,000, the accounting firm said Thursday in a remuneration report. That’s the highest among seven sub-Saharan African countries excluding South Africa and is based on data published by 382 companies, it said.
