Ambode’s commissioner resigns, endorses Agbaje

Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Olawale Oluwo, Wednesday resigned from the State Executive Council, citing anomalies and irregularities that characterised the governorship primaries. Oluwo, who contested governorship election with Mr Tokunbo Afikuyomi on the platform of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in 2007, also announced his defection to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressing support for PDP candidate, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, in the forthcoming election. Mr Uche Nwosu, former Chief of Staff to Imo state governor, Mr Rochas Okorocha, has defected from ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to Action Alliance (AA) to pursue his political ambition to be the next state governor. Akeredolu’s senior aides resign, decamp to PDP

Two senior aides of the Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, have resigned their appointments from the government, and decamped to Peoples Democratic Party. They are Mr Benson Enikuomehin, who served as Senior Special Assistant, and Mr Akopebi Lubi, who was a Special Assistant to the governor. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Cross River State on Monday issued a Certificate of Return to Mrs Stella Nkoro of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of November 17 bye-election into Ikom II State Constituency. 2018 party primaries among the worst in Nigeria – INEC

Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr Mahmood Yakubu, has said that primaries conducted by the various political parties ahead of 2019 elections are some of the “most acrimonious” in the nation’s history. 2019: INEC to modify campaign finance monitoring

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Tuesday said it would modify its modalities for tracking campaign finances saying individual candidates should also be encouraged to report their campaign finances to the commission.
