INEC yet to upload complete results to IReV 2 weeks after presidential election

More than two weeks after the presidential election, Independent National Electoral Commission is yet to upload the complete results from all polling units unto its Results Viewing portal, better known as IReV. Checks by our correspondent at about 9pm on Saturday, March 11, showed that so far, the commission has uploaded 166,168 results from 176,846 polling units. This represents 93.96 per cent of results from all the polling units. INEC, LP disagree on process of BVAS reconfiguration

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says political parties are not allowed to witness the backup or reconfiguration of the bimodal voter accreditation system (BVAS) machines. Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), had sought an order of the court restraining the INEC from tampering with the information embedded in the BVAS machines until the due inspection was conducted and certified true copies (CTC) of them issued. Court grants INEC permission to reconfigure BVAS machines on one condition

The Court of Appeal in Abuja, on Wednesday, granted INEC permission to reconfigure the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines used for the 25 February presidential and National Assembly elections across the country. INEC requests permission from presidential election tribunal to reconfigure BVAS for gov election

Independent National Electoral Commission has urged the Presidential Election Petition Court to vary the orders granted to the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively, to inspect materials used for the last presidential election. INEC, in a motion on notice filed on March 4, is praying the court to vary the order which restrained it from tampering with materials used for the election.
