Court nullifies Adamawa APC guber primary, says party has no candidate for 2023

The Federal High Court sitting in Yola has nullified the ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Aishatu Binani, for the 2023 general elections. In a ruling on Friday, the court presided by A.M Anka asked Binani to desist from parading herself as the APC candidate in the state. Anka ruled that the primary election was void due to the issue of over-voting and fielding of delegates from Lamurde Local Government Area where a congress was not conducted. INEC strikes out 2.7m names over double registration

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said new Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) would be made available by November. At a National Endowment for Democracy event in Washington DC in the United States, INEC Chairman, Mahmoud Yakubu, said 2.7 million double registrations were weeded out of the last Continuous Voters Registration exercise conducted by the commission and about 50% of the new PVCs are ready but yet to be distributed to collection centres. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the nomination of Bola Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is “invalid, null and void”.
