Gunmen have reportedly abducted at least 50 people from Damari community in Birnin-Gwari LGA of Kaduna state. The gunmen were said to have invaded the community on Saturday after troops of the Nigeria military escorted some residents to neighbouring communities. In recent weeks, Damari community has reportedly been under the siege of Ansaru insurgents, a faction of Boko Haram. No fewer than 20 persons have been killed following an attack by terrorists on Duma village in the Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Gunmen have engaged troops of the Nigerian Army in a shootout in Madalla, Niger State, Punch Newspaper reports. According to the report, the terrorists stormed the Zuma Rock checkpoint, close to Zuma barracks and began to shoot sporadically. An official of a commercial bank was, on Tuesday, killed when some armed robbers ambushed a bullion van conveying money to Umuahia, the Abia State capital. The incident occurred around Ntigha Junction along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of the state. Three soldiers of the Nigerian Army Guards Brigade’s 7 battalion have reportedly sustained injuries in an ambush by gunmen in Abuja.
