Police foil another kidnap attempt by gunmen on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

Men of the Ogun State Police Command on Tuesday battled suspected kidnappers during an attack on commuters travelling on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. According to eyewitness accounts, gunmen, dressed in military camouflage, attempted to abduct passengers in an 18-seater bus. EFCC appeals conviction of chairman to prison for contempt of court

Abdulrasheed Bawa, chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), says he has appealed the verdict ordering his remand. Gunmen release 5 sisters of same mother after parents paid N72m ransom

Gunmen have freed five sisters abducted six months ago from their boarding school in Zamfara state after their parents paid ransom money to secure their release, police and relatives said. 1,789 kaduna residents kidnapped in 6 months – Report

Kaduna State Government has said 1,789 citizens were kidnapped by bandits in six months. The government said 161 bandits were killed in various encounters with security agencies within the same period.
