Gunmen burned a Catholic priest to death and shot and injured his colleague in northcentral Nigeria on Sunday, police said, the latest violence raising concerns about security ahead of an election next month. Nigerians will vote for a new president on Feb. 25 but kidnappings for ransom and killings by armed gangs in the north have lead to fears that polls may not be held in some areas. Gunmen have abducted five women from Dan Mai-Tsuani community in Kankara LGA in Kastina state. Gunmen bomb Anambra LG secretariat, kill three vigilante operatives

Three vigilante operatives were, on Thursday, killed when gunmen bombed headquarters of Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, southeast Nigeria. Edo trains station kidnappers demand N620m ransom for victims

Gunmen who abducted 31 Edo train passengers on Saturday have allegedly demanded N620m ransom for their release. 31 victims remain with Edo train station kidnappers as police arrest one suspect

Chris Nehikhare, Edo state commissioner for communication and orientation, says 32 intending passengers were kidnapped at the train station in Igueben, on Saturday.
