Linus, said to be a Sergeant of the Nigerian Army, and his unidentified wife, said to be a lance corporal in the Army, were reportedly beheaded after being shot dead by the gunmen. Gunmen on Monday, killed four persons, including a police officer, in two communities in Anambra State, Nigeria’s Southeast. Two of the victims who were killed in Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area, were brothers. Sadiq, who has spent over one month in captivity with other victims, was said to have been released last Friday after the payment of ransom to the terrorists. At least five people including two personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been killed by suspected herdsmen, while others were injured in separate attacks on two local government areas of Benue State on Thursday and Friday last week. Gbadegesin, who was extradited on Monday, is wanted in the US over an alleged conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering.
