Herdsmen kill 2 NSCDC officers, 3 others in Benue

At least five people including two personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been killed by suspected herdsmen, while others were injured in separate attacks on two local government areas of Benue State on Thursday and Friday last week. Our correspondent gathered that two NSCDC personnel and a driver with the Benue Livestock Guards, were killed while they were on an official duty at Adaka community of Makurdi on Friday. Gunmen kill 5 persons in ‘drinking joint’ in Anambra

Gunmen have invaded a ‘beer parlour’ in Obiofia village in Osumenyi, in the Nnewi-South Local Government Area of Anambra State, and killed five persons. According to an eyewitness, the incident happened at the Uto Ndu beer drinking joint late Friday. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has extradited one Adedunmola Gbadegesin to the United States over a wire fraud scam worth $148,000. Gbadegesin, who was extradited on Monday, is wanted in the US over an alleged conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. Explosion at illegal oil refinery kills over 100 in Imo

More than 100 people were killed overnight in an explosion at an illegal oil refining depot on the border of Nigeria's Rivers and Imo states, a local government official and an environmental group said on Saturday. Gunmen abduct 10 herders, rustle 300 cows in Anambra

Suspected herders kill family of 5, 15 others in fresh Benue attacks

It was a black Thursday in Benue State as suspected herders renewed their onslaught on communities in two local government areas of the state. Bandits gun down Kaduna captives, threaten to kill 23 more over failure to pay ransom
