It was a black Thursday in Benue State as suspected herders renewed their onslaught on communities in two local government areas of the state. Sources disclosed that the herders at separate times on Thursday attacked Waya in Jato Aka and Mbapa as well as Ikyande communities in Kwande and Gwer West Local Government Areas of the state respectively. There was panic at Ungwan Bulus in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State as bandits killed three of the 26 villagers abducted on March 21, 2022. After abducting them, the bandits had demanded N20 million ransom for each of the captives. Three persons have been killed, while several others sustained injuries in an explosion that occurred in Iware community of Taraba state. The incident occurred on Tuesday at a drinking spot within the Iware cattle market axis. Nwokorie Anthony, an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has been shot dead in Imo State. The official was killed during the Continuous Voter Registration Exercise (CVR) exercise in Ihitte Uboma Local Government Area of the state. Four police officers were killed Wednesday when gunmen attacked Atani Divisional Police Headquarters in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria’s Southeast.
