The office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Awka, Anambra State capital, has been set on fire. Suspected militants of the outlawed Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) broke into the office Sunday night. They had engaged security operatives in a gun battle before setting the office on fire. The development comes five months to the gubernatorial election in the state. Armed herdsmen reportedly killed five persons at Ukoo Abaa village, near Kufai Amadu, in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.
