The man who slapped French President Emmanuel Macron in the face on Tuesday has been sentenced to 4 months in prison. Damien Tarel, 28, was charged with assault against a public official after slapping Macron during an appearance in southeast France. Hundreds arrested in simultaneous worldwide crime sting operations

More than 800 suspected criminals have been arrested worldwide after being tricked into using an FBI-run encrypted messaging app, officials say. Truck loaded with cows attacked, driver, conductor killed in Anambra

Two persons were shot dead on Sunday when their cattle-laden lorry was attacked in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra state. The driver, Abdulmumini Musa, and his conductor, Garba Yusuf, were en route from northeastern Bauchi State to Owerri when they were attacked in Oba, near Onitsha, one of the biggest centres of commerce in Nigeria’s south, our sources said. Herdsmen fleeing after Igangan massacre allegedly kill 3 in Ogun community

Bandits kill 93 in fresh Kebbi, Kaduna attacks

It was a mournful weekend in Kebbi and Kaduna states as bandits killed no fewer than 95 people. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested a Nigerian, Charles Onus, for his alleged involvement in diverting $800,000 into prepaid debit cards. The amount translates to about N320 million at the current official rate of N410 per dollar. Some armed men yesterday struck in Ikire and Apomu, Irewole and Isokan local government areas of Osun State, killing five persons in Ikire after attacking two new generation banks and a police station.
