Wike declares to be president in 2023

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has declared his intention to contest for president of Nigeria in the 2023 election. Wike disclosed this while visiting his Benue State counterpart, Samuel Ortom, in Government House, Makurdi, on Sunday. The list, which was signed by governors of the party, came as delegates gathered in Abuja for the ongoing party’s national convention. The Supreme Court on Friday upheld the de-registration of 22 political parties by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had instituted a suit against the lawmakers over their defection to All Progressives Congress (APC).
