Hushpuppi: Northern groups condemn ‘hasty’ suspension of Abba Kyari

Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) and other Arewa Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) have demanded a review of the suspension of DCP Abba Kyari. Police Service Commission had suspended Kyari following his indictment by the FBI. FBI had alleged that suspected billionaire fraudster, Ramon Abbas, better known as Hushpuppi, paid a bribe to Kyari, an allegation the police officer denied. The police had set up a panel to probe Kyari while he was replaced as head of the Intelligence Response team of the force. PDP govs summon emergency meeting over mass resignations of senior NCW members

Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have scheduled an emergency meeting to discuss the crisis rocking the party. Seven deputy national officers of the opposition party resigned on Tuesday in protest against what they called “poor leadership”. APC chieftain asks court to stop party’s congresses, convention

Kalu Agu, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), has asked a federal capital territory (FCT) high court to stop the party from proceeding with its congresses scheduled for Saturday. Supreme Court affirms Akeredolu’s election

Supreme Court of Nigeria has dismissed the appeal filed by Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party, challenging the election of Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu. In the majority judgment, four of the justices of the apex court upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal and the Ondo State Governorship Election Petition.
