Court orders release of ex-CBN chief, Emefiele on bail

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has granted bail to former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele. The court granted him bail after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) complied with the order made on November 2. Boko Haram kills 15 farmers near Maiduguri

At least 15 rice farmers were killed and several others feared abducted in Borno state after suspected Boko Haram insurgents attacked three villages, a local farmers' leader said on Monday. No fewer than 22 persons have been killed in Chito and Tyo Akosu communities of Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State, following a rival gang fight and attack on a drinking spot. Navy discovers connection points used to siphon ‘huge quantities of petrol’ from NNPCL’s Lagos pipeline

A Nigerian Navy patrol in collaboration with the Maritime Component of Operation AWATSE has discovered two punctured points along the NNPCL pipeline in Lagos. Boko Haram kills 40 in Yobe, police say

At least 40 people were killed in Yobe state between Monday and Tuesday after suspected Boko Haram militants shot at villagers and set off a land mine, in the first major attack on the northern eastern state in 18 months, the police said on Wednesday. EFCC disclaims arrest warrants for loan defaulters

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said the agency does not issue arrest warrants for loan defaulters as allegedly claimed by some of these loan companies. In a statement released on the official X account of the Commission on Friday, the EFCC stated that they do not issue arrest warrants as purported by these companies.
