Oil theft: Illegal connections more than 4,800 - NNPC

Group Chief Executive Officer of the the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Mele Kyari yesterday described oil theft and vandalism in the Niger Delta region as a calamity saying there are over 4,800 illegal connections on crude oil pipelines in the area and warned that this could frustrate the projections of the Federal Government. Gunmen waylay Kogi Election Tribunal officials, cart away petition documents

Kogi State Police Command yesterday confirmed that gunmen attacked the secretary of the state governorship election tribunal, David Umar Mike, and made away with sensitive petition documents on the just concluded gubernatorial election in the state. Robbers kill Ogun director of finance on Abeokuta overheard bridge, cart away N112m cash meant for gov’s office

Suspected armed robbers on Wednesday reportedly killed one Taiwo Oyekanmi, said to be a director of finance, at the governor’s office in Ogun state. Emefiele retained in prison custody for failure to meet bail conditions

Godwin Emefiele, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), will remain in Kuje correctional facility, Abuja after he failed to meet his bail conditions. A British-Nigerian national has pleaded guilty in New York to involvement in a more than seven-year scheme to hack into banks' and brokerages' computer servers, causing more than $6 million of losses for customers. Idris Dayo Mustapha, 33, pleaded guilty to access device fraud, conspiracy to commit computer intrusion and securities fraud, and conspiracy to commit wire fraud at a hearing before U.S. District Judge Pamela Chen in Brooklyn. Court remands Emefiele in Kuje prison

A Federal Capital Territory High Court has remanded the former Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele, in Kuje prison. Emefiele is standing trial on an alleged procurement fraud. The trial which had been stalled on three occasions finally held on Friday.
