Navy discovers connection points used to siphon ‘huge quantities of petrol’ from NNPCL’s Lagos pipeline

A Nigerian Navy patrol in collaboration with the Maritime Component of Operation AWATSE has discovered two punctured points along the NNPCL pipeline in Lagos. Base Information Officer of the NNS Beecroft, H. A. Collins, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday. Ms Collins, sub-lieutenant, said the discovery was made on 1 November between ATLAS COVE and Ijegun. She said the NNS Beecroft patrol team responded to credible intelligence leading to the discovery of the punctured points. Boko Haram kills 40 in Yobe, police say

At least 40 people were killed in Yobe state between Monday and Tuesday after suspected Boko Haram militants shot at villagers and set off a land mine, in the first major attack on the northern eastern state in 18 months, the police said on Wednesday. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has detained the former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele. Emefiele was picked up on Thursday night, less than an hour after he regained his freedom from the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS. EFCC disclaims arrest warrants for loan defaulters

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said the agency does not issue arrest warrants for loan defaulters as allegedly claimed by some of these loan companies.
