Two persons were on Friday killed during an attack by bandits on Ungwan Gimbiya community, in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. In the last one year, 5,238 inmates have escaped from various prisons across Nigeria, according to a PREMIUM TIMES analysis. No fewer than five officials of the Borno State government have been abducted by Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP). The victims, who were supervising construction of Chibok-Damboa road, were forcefully taken away on Wednesday. The incident occurred near Wovi, a remote village in Chibok Local Government Area. Police in Anambra state said two of their officers have been shot dead and their bodies burnt by their attackers. One officer is still missing, according to the police.
