800 teachers killed by terrorists in Northeast - NUT

Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) has decried growing security challenges in the country, claiming the union has lost at least 800 of its members to the insurgency which has been ravaging the Northeast zone of the country. Some bandits in separate attacks invaded two villages of Yagbak and Ungwan Ruhugo in the Ayap Chiefdom of the Zango- Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Friday. ISWAP militants attack Borno community, kill two policemen, one soldier

At least two police officers and a soldier have died in a battle with suspected ISWAP terrorists in Malamfatori in Borno State. Two personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Rivers State Command, have been shot dead by gunmen. Armed men on motorbikes killed at least 18 people at a mosque in Niger state, two residents told Reuters on Monday. Gunmen attacked a jail in Oyo State late on Friday and freed over 800 inmates by force, the third such major attack this year, prison service said in a statement on Saturday. Bandits move to ‘next level’, paralyse Abuja-Kaduna train service

Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has confirmed that suspected bandits on Wednesday destroyed a portion of the Abuja-Kaduna rail track with explosives, forcing a disruption of train services on the route.
