Gunmen kill 4, burn 3 vehicles in Anambra

Four persons have been reported killed in different locations in Anambra State by gunmen. One of the victims was gunned down inside the All Progressives Congress (APC) office at Uruagu Ward 3 in Nnewi North Local Government Area (LGA). The other three, it was gathered, were killed along Nnobi – Nnewi Road, near Afor Market, Nnobi, in Idemmili South LGA. Gunmen on Friday in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State abducted a woman and her two children. As the insecurity occasioned by rural banditry bites harder, some residents of frontline local governments in Katsina State have either abandoned their farms or resorted to forceful payment of taxes to bandits. According to Katsina State Government, some 5,884 farmlands were abandoned due to the attacks. Gunmen kill three policemen in Anambra

Three policemen on duty in Onitsha, Anambra State, were on Sunday killed by gunmen. The incident, it was gathered, happened around 9 am on the Ukaegbu/Ezeiweka road in Onitsha. Two other cops were injured during the shooting incident at a security post mounted by the police operatives. The operation vehicle of the cops was also set ablaze. Gunmen have killed Abubakar Abdullahi, chairman of the Lere LGA chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Kaduna.
