Personnel monitoring closed-circuit television (CCTV) at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) were reportedly asleep when bandits attacked the premises on Tuesday. Armed bandits on Tuesday attacked a team of security officials escorting travellers from Gusau, the state capital to Dansadau, in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Six of the 136 students kidnapped from an Islamic school in Niger state have died of illness, the school principal told Reuters on Monday. The abductors have demanded a ransom to release the students, kidnapped in May after an armed gang on motorcycles attacked the school in the town of Tegina. Gunmen killed four people and abducted 50 others in Goran Namaye town in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara, police in the state confirmed on Monday. The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Shehu, made the disclosure to newsmen in Gusau on Monday. At least fourteen people have been killed in a fresh attack at Mado village, Mabushi in Atyap Chiefdom of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Twelve persons have been killed by bandits who stormed Duba village, Batsari LGA of Katsina State. The bandits numbering over 300 were said to have attacked the community at about 8;45pm on Saturday. 17 killed as gunmen attack Benue villages

No fewer than 17 people were reportedly killed in different villages of two local government areas in Benue State. A woman was also abducted in one of the villages.
