At least two people were killed when hoodlums blocked Gada-Biyu Highway in Jos, Plateau State capital, Tuesday night. A resident told our correspondent that two trucks were set on fire in the incident. The hoodlums were seen on rampage, assaulting passersby. Our correspondent reports the incident may be connected to the violence that occurred between herders and the people of Irigwe. Two Nigerians have been arrested in the United States for wire fraud and other offences involving $25,000 in unemployment benefits. Olushola Afolabi and Olugbeminiyi Aderibigbe were accused of conspiring with others to defraud the Illinois Department of Employment Security and the United States government through fraudulent unemployment insurance claims. Eighteen people, including a police officer, have been reportedly killed in attacks by bandits on five communities in Chawai chiefdom, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Reports have it that the attacks occurred Monday morning in Kigom, Kikoba, Kishisho and Ungwan Magaji communities.
