Gunmen kill nine in Kogi community

Naval personnel have been drafted to strengthen security in Bagana, Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State, following Tuesday’s invasion of the community by gunmen, who allegedly killed nine persons. Apart from the nine persons, who were shot dead, several others sustained varying degrees of injury. Chief Security Officer for the local government council, Stephen Shuaibu, said there were threats of reprisals from different quarters, hence the proactive move of deploying naval personnel to prevent a further breakdown of law and order. Gunmen kill three, abduct others in Katsina

Gunmen have killed three people and abducted others in Sabuwa Local Council of Katsina State. The incident occurred early Wednesday morning while the residents were asleep. It was learned that the gunmen, who rode on motorcycles and armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the community, taking vigilante groups and other security volunteers unawares. Many people, including those scampering for safety, were reportedly injured during the attack. It was gathered that houses were looted while three people were abducted. Bandits abduct students in hometown of Zamfara gov

Bandits have again abducted school children in Zamfara State. The victims this time are an unspecified number of students of Government Day Secondary School, Kaya in Maradun Local Government Area of the state. Maradun is the home town of Governor Bello Matawalle. Unknown gunmen suspected to be armed robbers in the early hours of Tuesday raided a Government hospital in Bayelsa, Diete Koki Memorial Hospital, carting away cash and valuables belonging to doctors on duty and patients as well. The hospital is located along Opolo Road in Yenagoa, the state capital. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. Three members of Living Faith Church Worldwide have been kidnapped at Osara community along Lokoja-Okene road in Adavi Local Government Council of Kogi State. Gunmen abduct medical doctor in Edo

Tonnie Okoye, a medical doctor, has been abducted by gunmen in Edo state. The doctor was said to have been abducted along Benin-Asaba expressway at the weekend. Okoye was travelling to Auchi, in Etsako West LGA of the state, when he was kidnapped. Father of the deceased, Bala Ibn Na Allah, is the Senator representing Kebbi South Senatorial District. The deceased, 36, was a pilot by profession.
